The Daily Journal: Community Colleges Try to Accommodate Another Yeasr of Rises

Community colleges in Northeast Mississippi are adjusting to a second year of growth.
Each of the four community colleges that serve Northeast Mississippi have reported increased enrollment for the current fall semester.
Those increases have resulted in larger class sizes, more adjunct teachers and instructors carrying greater class loads.
“As with all of colleges, yes there are growing pains, but it is a wonderful problem to have,” said Larry Simpson, dean of enrollment management and registrar at Northwest Mississippi Community College. “We are in the process of trying to make some plans to accommodate all of this growth.”
